As I was browsing around a bookstore on my lunch break today, I was thinking about how much I love books. But it’s not just reading books that I love, I love looking at them. Books are magical things that can transform us to other worlds and take us to far away places, but they can also be beautiful to look at. People say not to judge a book by it’s cover, but I love the covers! I love to decorate with bright colorful books.

In the age of E-readers and big box bookstores closing their doors, I think it’s important to celebrate books for what they are and how magical they are. I love to display books around our house. In my office, I have reference manuals, fashion books and novels. Most of the reference manuals are on journalism and writing and the novels are “chick lit” books. In our living room are my Harry Potter books and our collection of large coffee table books.

After you finish all of your summer reading this year, make sure to display the books around your home in fun and creative ways!
